The Jerry Baker redux! A commendable first effort, to be sure (guffawing occurred for this viewer). If you do end up adding a pink shirt and mint-green scarf for greater congruence with Jerry's original intent, might I suggest the application of a bald cap under the ear muffs? Enjoyed seeing your vacation photos, all (especially the turtle, of course). I really hope that you choose to excerpt passages of that "Trophy Deer of British Columbia" book betwixt the moose bookends rather than that Rob Lowe memoir. It looks like it has real page-turner promise and frankly, I'm disappointed you didn't mention it ; )

Lol that tome does sound promising. British Columbia is the gift that keeps on giving. THANK YOU for guffawing and mentioning the bald head! I wanted to, but didn’t know if that was a manners faux pas. Thanks, forever, for being here with us pirates. And of course the turtles.🐢💞🏴‍☠️🐚📚 (And I’m sorry: Rob Lowe summaries cometh! Unless I forget haha)

The bald cap mention could well have been a manners faux pas for some folks, so if it had that impact for any stray comment-reading soul, please know I meant no shade to the hairless, I was just noting the contrast between the hirsute and the not-hirsute. Happy to stowaway on your pirate adventures, friend. And I can deal with Rob Lowe summaries, so long as I'm not forced to walk the plank or guzzle rum with you ; )

I promise no guzzling culture on this ship 🌹😊 And yes, the hair contrast is, frankly, one of the photos greatest weaknesses and I’m happy you said it

Wowww I love the homage to the plant guy!! Can you get his email and send him a link to this post?? Maybe he has a Substack?! Ha. And omg, that wall and the seashelled canine. I also spotted some bunnies. Lolz. I always laugh at/love what you write in that caption space to try and lure(?) in new subscribers. Can I hire you to write mine?? xoxx

lol absolutely, caption writer for hire, that me! Don’t you kind of love that seashell pal? Lemme know if/when your agent gets a hold of Mr. Baker’s email info 😂

Now that is a wall! Holy! So many beautiful pics and, of course, observations. Question: How does Rob Lowe continue to look like that? Another question: How are the colours of those parrots (which I appreciate deeply) evolutionarily beneficial to them? I could google that one but it's more fun to ask you. xoxo

The colors are so beautiful, I could happily bask in a sun porch tackily pillowed in those hues. I *do* think RL continues to look like that! It’s unfair (and it’s also fillers lol). Right, the wall? It’s perfect, in spite of its occasional alarming additions (saw a gun or two when I returned that night…interesting I didn’t notice them in the day)

Interesting, I have no power or wifi right now and Substack still seems to be letting me in here to like and comment… The jig is up! Substack is not a platform but just storytelling and telepathy?!? Sorry lol.

Can I come on one of your family trips? Man you notice all the best things, all the “right” things IMO! Holy crap what an Easter egg, to learn on your second visit that there are TRINKETS in the JARS that are embedded in the wall?!? Also I totally get the jitters at seeing an abandoned ocean-front at night. I grew up on the ocean and my best friend and I would literally walk each other halfway home at night, and then run screaming the rest of the way so that the “sea monster” wouldn’t get us. (It never did!)

Oh and LOVED the recreation of the book cover, obviously, I just absolutely love imagining what went into making this…The planning, the giggles, the utmost attention to detail ❤️

Awww thank you, friend! Yes, you can come, Winebagos take America. Your description of evading the sea monster is so sweet! Also makes me think you should check out The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff for its small town and marine lore plot. It’s not a perfect book but it’s Lauren’s first, and another Lauren? Here for all the telepathy, Substack conscription or no 💞🏴‍☠️

At first I read that as wine-baggos thinking it was how you were describing us?! lol! I don’t know that I’ve ever seen that word spelled out?! But either way, I’ll take it!

oh damn, I swear I had it right when I was typing it out: Winnebagos. Auto-correct went ahead and did her thing, lol. I am not calling us wine or whining bagos :)

I came over to say congrats ‘cause I saw your name in the certification list this morning, and completely lost my ish at AN ENTIRE BOOK of “Trophy Deer of British Columbia.” 😂😂😂 So much goodness in this round up! I love everything about that wall, hahaha. And you absolutely get a gold star for your cover recreation.

Thank you for my congrats, gold star, and your appreciation of the reading we all need to be studying up on! Never enough knowledge about trophy deer 😂 Don’t you just want to move right into that wall? Or at least pull an armchair up alongside it…

I love being a “fly on the wall” from your line of sight of what you share (did that make sense?) “Is that a pirate . . . or Jesus?”🤣 I’ve also always loved your son’s quotes. You make me excited to head to the beach on Friday! lol to the bleachers for mini golf spectators. I have so many questions about holiday shirt person’s life story.
